Heavy rainfall warning up in Quezon, Laguna and Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — The provinces of Quezon, Laguna, and Batangas are set to experience significant rainfall on Christmas morning, influenced by the shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its heavy rainfall advisory issued at 8 a.m., Pagasa placed these provinces under a yellow warning, indicating an expected rainfall of 7.5 to 15 millimeters over the next two hours. The agency urged local communities to stay alert for possible flooding, particularly in areas prone to such incidents.

Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is forecasted in the following provinces over the next three hours:

  • Nueva Ecija
  • Pampanga
  • Bataan
  • Zambales
  • Tarlac

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains interspersed with occasional heavy showers are currently being experienced in these areas, with this weather likely to persist for the next three hours:

  • Rizal
  • Metro Manila
  • Cavite
  • Bulacan
